Join the Team!

Have you found it hard to start or grow your career as an artist, arts leader or arts teacher?

We are looking for a creative person aged 18-30 to work with our team on an arts project, supporting other young people to learn arts skills and be creative.

You will be helping the workshop leads, learning new arts skills, setting up and putting away materials, talking to learners and helping them while you learn.

You don’t need any qualifications in art or experience in this kind of role. We are looking for someone who sees themselves as an artist, regardless of their background or training. You will be supported by experienced artists and project leaders.

This project will use visual arts like printmaking, drawing, photography and collage to explore ideas about places we live in and call home.

The Trainee Workshop Assistant will be paid £50 for each session they work at, and we would expect them to work at 12 sessions altogether, between June and December 2024.

We will also pay a £100 allowance for materials to develop your own work.

We will pay for training like safeguarding and customer service.

This is a young people led project, as we have identified an age-based barrier to taking lead roles in arts activities, which is why we are specifically recruiting someone uder 30 to this role.

Workshops would happen in Ladywood and Balsall Heath in Birmingham. We can pay for travel costs if this will help you.

The closing date for this opportunity is 6pm on 29 April 2024.
